April 2010; after trying the Canonet rangefinder, I was intrigued – I liked the fast lens, the build and the small form-factor of that camera, but the worn-out rangefinder patch made framing and focusing difficult. So I started browsing the flea-market again.
Went for MINOLTA XD7 and 50mm f1.7 lens (with a yellow filter on it) and loved the experience – focusing via big and bright split screen was much more to my taste. And the smoothness and rendering of Minolta lenses started my long time love affair with them.
